Production Supervisor – Job Description

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Manufacturing/Production
Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring output targets are met safely, on time, and within quality standards. This role manages a team of production workers, coordinates with other departments, and drives continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to meet production schedules and targets
Assign tasks and shifts to production staff, monitor workload distribution
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
Train, coach, and evaluate production staff performance
Identify and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, or workflow bottlenecks
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation




Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, logistics, and other departments
Implement and support lean manufacturing/continuous improvement initiatives
Enforce discipline and address employee performance or conduct issues
Conduct regular team briefings/toolbox talks
Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods on the floor
Ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and operated
