Role & responsibilities
Identify and develop current vendors as per company requirements.
Search, evaluate, and shortlist potential suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, delivery, and reliability.
Conduct vendor visits and coordinate supplier assessments.
Collect and evaluate vendor quotations and commercial terms.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead time, MOQ, and other commercial conditions.
Coordinate with Purchase, Quality, Production, R&D;, and other departments for vendor requirements.
Ensure vendors meet required quality standards and technical specifications.
Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials and components.
Monitor vendor performance regarding quality, cost, delivery, and service.
Develop alternate and backup sources for critical materials.
Support supplier quality improvement and corrective actions.
Maintain vendor database, evaluation records, quotations, and development documents.
Coordinate sample development, trial orders, and approval of recent suppliers.
Assist in cost reduction and localization initiatives.
