Role Overview

We are looking to hire an additional Head of Engineering to strengthen our General Insurance technology leadership. This role will have end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery, working alongside the existing leadership team to drive scalable, high-quality platform outcomes.

This is a delivery-focused leadership role, requiring solid hands-on expertise in building and scaling General Insurance systems in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end engineering delivery for General Insurance systems and platforms
Lead multiple engineering teams across backend, frontend, integrations, cloud, and data
Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery aligned with business and regulatory priorities
Drive platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security
Partner closely with Product, Business,



and Architecture teams for execution excellence
Implement contemporary engineering practices:
Microservices and cloud-native architecture
CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, and observability
Own technical debt, system stability, and release timelines
Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, data security, and internal risk controls
Mentor senior leaders and foster a solid ownership culture
Manage vendor partnerships and delivery commitments

Mandatory Requirements
15–20 years of engineering experience with leadership exposure
Strong General Insurance domain expertise (Motor, Health, Commercial, Property)
Proven ownership of end-to-end delivery, beyond just architecture or people management
Experience with core insurance systems (Policy, Claims, Underwriting, Integrations)
Strong technical depth in:
Cloud (AWS preferred)
Distributed systems, APIs, and databases
Experience managing large-scale, transaction-heavy platforms
