Psychological Counsellor – Job Description

Job Title: Psychological Counsellor

Department: Counselling / Clinical Services

Location: Hospital/Clinic

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide individual and family counselling to patients and their attendants.

* Assess patients’ emotional, psychological, and behavioural concerns.

* Provide emotional support to patients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or difficult life situations.

* Conduct counselling sessions and maintain proper patient records.

* Help patients develop coping strategies and improve emotional well-being.

* Provide pre- and post-treatment counselling where required.

* Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding patients’ psychological needs.





* Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

* Identify cases requiring psychiatric or specialist intervention and refer them appropriately.

* Conduct awareness sessions on mental health and emotional well-being.

Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology.

* Relevant counselling experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.

* Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.

* Solid listening, empathy, and patient-handling skills.

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
