Role Description
The Modeler role at GridsGlobal Steel Detailing LLC is a full time, on-site position based in Chennai.
The Modeler will be responsible for creating and updating precise 3D structural steel models, ensuring alignment with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Daily tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating with detailing and fabrication teams, resolving modeling issues, and preparing accurate reports and documentation.
The role also involves collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to meet deadlines, minimize RFIs, and support high-quality deliverables.
The Modeler is expected to actively participate in process improvements and adopt new tools and techniques introduced through ongoing training.

Qualifications
Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software commonly used in structural steel projects (e.g., Tekla Structures or SDS/2, ).



Familiarity with AISC Standards
Solid understanding of structural steel detailing standards, fabrication practices, erection sequences, and basic engineering principles.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, connection details, and project specifications with high accuracy.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working closely with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and other team members.
Attention to detail, solid problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to meeting deadlines while maintaining quality and reducing RFIs.
Experience with tech-based workflows, version control, and documentation processes in a steel detailing setting.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the steel detailing
