Job Summary

We are looking for an organized, enthusiastic, and student-friendly School Librarian to manage the school library and encourage students to develop strong reading, research, and information-management skills. The candidate should maintain an engaging library environment and support students and teachers in making effective use of library resources.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
Maintain and organize books, reference materials, periodicals, newspapers, and digital resources.
Maintain accurate records of books, issues, returns, recent acquisitions, and damaged or missing books.
Operate the library management system and maintain proper library documentation.
Assist students in selecting age-appropriate books and developing regular reading habits.
Guide students in research, reference work, and effective use of information resources.




Support teachers in identifying books and learning resources relevant to classroom requirements.
Conduct library periods and reading-related activities for students.
Encourage reading through book reviews, reading challenges, storytelling, book clubs, and other activities.
Maintain proper discipline and a quiet, welcoming setting in the library.
Handle book circulation, renewals, reservations, and overdue follow-ups.
Regularly inspect the condition of library materials and arrange for repair or replacement when necessary.
Assist in planning and maintaining the annual library budget and book procurement requirements.
Coordinate with teachers and school management for current book selections and library development.
Introduce students to digital libraries, e-books, online educational resources, and responsible information usage.
