Job Description
Electrical Engineer Costing, Proposal & Estimation (Control Panel & Automation)
Role Overview
Responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and techno-commercial proposals for control panels and industrial automation systems. This role involves understanding client requirements, designing solutions, and ensuring competitive and technically compliant bids.
Key Responsibilities
Tender & Requirement Analysis
Study RFQs, tender documents, and technical specifications
Understand customer requirements for:
PLC panels
MCC / PCC panels
SCADA / DCS systems
Identify scope, deviations, and risks
Technical Solution & Design
Prepare basic engineering documents:
Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
Control schematics
Panel GA (General Arrangement) drawings
Select components such as:
PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
HMIs, VFDs, relays, switchgear
Ensure compliance with IEC / IS standards
Costing & Estimation
Prepare detailed cost estimates including:
Panel hardware (enclosure, busbars, wiring)
Automation components (PLC, SCADA,
instruments)
Engineering & software development
Installation & commissioning
Develop BOQ and cost breakups
Optimize cost for competitive bidding
Vendor Coordination
Float RFQs to vendors and suppliers
Evaluate quotations technically & commercially
Negotiate pricing and delivery timelines
Proposal Preparation
Prepare techno-commercial proposals
Define scope, assumptions, exclusions
Support sales team in bid submission and follow-ups
Documentation & Submission
Compile all technical documents, datasheets, and compliance sheets
Ensure timely and accurate bid submission
Maintain proposal records and revisions
Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
2–6 years of experience in control panel or automation industry
Required Skills
Technical Skills
Solid knowledge of:
Control panels (MCC, PCC, PLC panels)
Industrial autom
