Role & responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre (OT) before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgeries.
Arrange and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques and follow infection-control protocols.
Perform proper sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments.
Assist with patient preparation, positioning, shifting, and transfer.
Ensure availability and proper functioning of OT equipment.
Maintain surgical instrument and sponge/gauze counts before and after procedures.
Handle emergency and trauma OT procedures as required.
Maintain OT records, checklists, and procedure documentation.
Follow biomedical waste management and hospital safety protocols.
Monitor OT inventory and inform seniors about shortages of instruments or consumables.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the OT.
Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, anesthesia team, and other hospital departments.

Preferred candidate profile




Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent qualification.
Registration with State Medical Facility.
Relevant experience as an OT Technician in a hospital/healthcare setup preferred.
Positive knowledge of surgical instruments, OT procedures, sterilization, and infection control.
Knowledge of different types of surgical procedures and OT protocols.
Ability to work efficiently during emergency and critical situations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Freshers with relevant qualification may also be considered.
