Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the eye OT before each surgical procedure.
Arrange and check ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment.
Prepare surgical trays according to the planned procedure.
Assist the ophthalmic surgeon during procedures.
Maintain sterile/aseptic technique throughout surgery.
Handle and maintain ophthalmic instruments carefully.
Prepare and check microscopes, phaco machines, cautery, vitrectomy equipment, etc., as applicable.
Ensure availability of IOLs, viscoelastic substances, sutures, blades, cannulas, and other consumables.
Assist with patient positioning and pre-operative preparation.
Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.
Maintain OT records, surgical checklists, and inventory.




Follow infection-control and biomedical-waste-management protocols.
Check equipment functionality and report faults.
Prepare the OT for the next case after completion of surgery.
