About the Role

We're looking for an experienced IBM Z Monitoring Specialist to implement and maintain OMEGAMON monitoring infrastructure across mission-critical mainframe settings. You'll be the go-to expert for z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ health monitoring, driving proactive detection, automation, and AIOps integration for a large-scale enterprise production landscape.

What You'll Do
Implement and maintain OMEGAMON monitoring across z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, and storage subsystems
Build automated alerting, event correlation, and threshold management frameworks
Develop dashboards and operational reporting for stakeholders
Drive proactive detection of performance degradation and support root cause analysis
Integrate monitoring data with AIOps platforms and analytics tools (Splunk, Elastic, Grafana)




Support Windows Server and VMware environments; contribute to on-prem to cloud migration initiatives
Mentor team members and contribute to monitoring strategy and continuous service improvement

What You Bring
6+ years in enterprise monitoring, with hands-on OMEGAMON / IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) administration
Solid RMF/SMF analysis and performance baseline development experience
Working knowledge of z/OSMF, Parallel Sysplex, and IBM Z infrastructure
Scripting proficiency in REXX and JCL; familiarity with SA z/OS and automation frameworks
Exposure to AIOps platforms (IBM Z AIOps, Watson AIOps, or similar)
ITIL process experience (Incident, Problem, Event Management)
Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and cloud migration (preferred)
IBM OMEGAMON or IBM Z Monitoring certification (preferred)
Comfortable working in 24x7 rotational shift environments supporting mission-critical production systems
