Role Overview
The Senior DPS SME / Architect is responsible for end-to-end ownership of enterprise data protection strategy, covering backup, recovery, disaster recovery, compliance, and platform evolution.
This role goes beyond operations and focuses on architecture, governance, resilience, and long-term platform stability.

Key Responsibilities
Design and own enterprise backup and recovery architecture across on-prem and hybrid settings
Define and govern RTO/RPO strategies aligned with business criticality
Lead platform migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh programs
Architect and optimize solutions using NetBackup, Commvault, Data Domain, Rubrik, Cohesity
Own DR architecture, DR drills, and failover/failback strategies
Define standards, policies, retention models, and compliance controls




Support audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments
Act as escalation point for major incidents and RCA
Mentor L2/L3 engineers and provide technical leadership
Engage with vendors and senior stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills
Deep architecture-level experience in NetBackup and/or Commvault
Solid expertise with Data Domain (DD Boost, replication, vaulting)
Enterprise DR design (multi-site, active/passive, cyber recovery)
Robust Linux & Windows understanding
Audit, compliance, and governance exposure
