PHP Developer (Core PHP & MySQL)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on PHP Developer with 2+ years of experience building and maintaining websites using Core PHP and MySQL. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full stack from front-end markup to back-end logic to live deployment — and can take ownership of a project from development through to production.

Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain websites/web applications using Core PHP and MySQL
Build responsive front-end pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Write clean, secure, and optimized database queries
Deploy and manage websites on live servers (upload, configuration, troubleshooting)
Debug and fix issues across front-end and back-end
Collaborate with designers/other developers to implement requirements
Maintain basic documentation of code and deployment steps

Requirements




2+ years of hands-on experience with Core PHP (procedural/OOP, non-framework)
Solid working knowledge of MySQL (schema design, queries, joins, optimization)
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Practical experience deploying websites to live/production servers (cPanel, VPS, FTP, or similar)
Familiarity with AJAX/jQuery
Basic understanding of Git or other version control
Positive debugging skills and ability to work independently
Comfortable using AI coding tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to speed up development, and able to critically review, test, and verify AI-generated code before using it

Nice to Have
Exposure to a PHP framework (Laravel, CodeIgniter)
Basic Linux server administration
Understanding of REST APIs
