Job Description – Automation Test Engineer – RxClaim / PBM

Job Title: Automation Test Engineer – Selenium / Playwright

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer (EL3) with strong hands-on expertise in Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright and experience in the RxClaim / Pharmacy Perks Management (PBM) domain.

The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for mission-critical healthcare and pharmacy claims applications. The role requires strong knowledge of UI automation, API testing, SQL/database validation, CI/CD, Agile testing practices, and healthcare claims workflows.

Experience with RxClaim, pharmacy claims adjudication, formulary management, benefit configuration, prior authorization, and member eligibility will be highly valued.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Automation

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright.
- Develop reusable and maintainable automation scripts for web-based healthcare applications.
- Create and execute automated:
- Functional tests
- Regression tests
- Integration tests
- System tests
- End-to-end tests
- Smoke and sanity tests
- Implement automation best practices including Page Object Model, reusable utilities, test data management, and parameterized testing.
- Analyze automation failures and perform root-cause analysis.
- Continuously improve automation coverage, reliability, execution time, and maintainability.

RxClaim / PBM Testing

- Validate RxClaim and Pharmacy Benefit Management workflows.
- Test pharmacy claims processing and adjudication scenarios.
- Validate:
- Benefit configurations
- Formulary management
- Member eligibility
- Prior authorization
- Claims adjudication
- Pharmacy/member/provider data
- Benefit plans
- Create comprehensive test scenarios based on business requirements and healthcare workflows.
- Validate positive, negative, boundary, and exception scenarios across pharmacy claims processes.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand complex PBM requirements and translate them into automation scenarios.

API Testing

- Design and execute API test cases for healthcare and claims-related services.
- Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
- Validate API requests, responses, status codes, headers, authentication, business rules, and error handling.
- Perform integration testing between claims, eligibility, member, provider, and other healthcare systems.

SQL & Database Validation





- Write SQL queries to validate backend data and business transactions.
- Perform database validation and data reconciliation.
- Verify claims, member, eligibility, provider, and benefit data at the database level.
- Validate data integrity between application UI, APIs, and backend systems.
- Investigate data discrepancies and support root-cause analysis.

CI/CD & Continuous Testing

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with tools such as:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub Actions
- Jenkins
- GitLab CI
- Support automated test execution as part of build and deployment pipelines.
- Configure automated test reporting and failure notifications.
- Contribute to continuous testing and shift-left quality initiatives.

QA & SDLC

- Analyze requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
- Develop test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test data.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, risk assessment, and release validation.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects through closure.
- Participate in defect triage and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and QA teams throughout the SDLC.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language:
- Java
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- Python or equivalent automation language
- Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using:
- TestNG
- JUnit
- Cypress
- Playwright Test
- Strong understanding of API Testing.
- Experience with Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent API testing tools.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database validation.
- Understanding of functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA/test management processes.
- Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

RxClaim / Healthcare Domain RequirementsPreferred Domain Experience

- Hands-on experience with RxClaim.
- Experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) systems.
- Understanding of pharmacy claims processing and adjudication.

- Knowledge of Docker/containerized test environments is a plus.
- Experience with test reporting tools such as:
- Allure
- Extent Reports
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as:
- Application Insights
- Splunk
- Knowledge of performance testing practices.
- Exposure to security and accessibility testing.
- Experience with Git and source-control best practices.

Automation Framework Expectations

The candidate should be capable of designing or enhancing automation frameworks supporting:

- Page Object Model
- Data-driven testing
- Parameterized testing

EL3 Responsibilities

At the EL3 level, the candidate is expected to:

- Independently own automation deliverables for assigned applications/modules.
- Design and enhance automation frameworks.
- Analyze complex healthcare/PBM requirements and convert them into effective automation strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex automation and integration failures.
- Participate in technical discussions and automation framework decisions.
- Mentor junior QA/automation engineers where required.
- Identify opportunities for improving test coverage and automation efficiency.
- Work closely with cross-functional and global teams.
- Take ownership of quality engineering activities through the complete SDLC.
