Code_V is looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our game development team!
We’re currently working on Gaia Genesis, a multiplayer hero-shooter featuring unique otherworldly animals, each with their own abilities, personalities, and visual identity.
NOTE : THIS IS GOING TO BE A PROFIT SHARING ROLE. I.E. THE VOLUNTEER WILL BE GETTING THE COMPENSATION AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE GAME FOR UPTO 8 YEARS
What you’ll do
- Create and lead the development of 3D environments, maps, props, and assets
- Establish environment art quality, style, and visual consistency
- Work closely with Game Designers, Artists, and Developers to build gameplay-focused environments
- Create modular environment assets and optimized game-ready assets
- Handle texturing, materials, lighting, composition, and set dressing
- Help define environment art pipelines and workflows
- Provide guidance and feedback to other environment artists
- Optimize environments for performance without compromising visual quality
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in 3D Environment Art for games
- Good understanding of Unreal Engine
- Proficiency in tools such as Blender / Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of composition, lighting, materials, and environmental storytelling
- Knowledge of game optimization and modular environment workflows
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- A strong portfolio showcasing game environments and props
