Application Question(s):
- Can you explain the difference between ambient lighting, task lighting, and smart lighting automation to a client?
- How would you handle an Architect who says: 'I already have an electrician who does basic automation, we don't need an outside agency'?
- If a premium villa owner complains that smart automation is 'too complicated' for their elderly parents to use, how will you reassure them?"
- What types of premium clients or interior design professionals have you interacted with in your previous role? What was your approach to keeping them engaged
- "How do you introduce a premium automation or decorative lighting concept to an Interior Designer who is worried that technology will ruin their wall aesthetics?"
- Walk me through your approach when dealing with a High-Net-Worth Individual (HNI) client who compares your premium quote with a cheap, DIY smart switch brand they saw online.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully pitched to an Architect and got your product included in their layout? How did you build that trust?
- When you walk onto an unfinished premium residential site (bare-shell or brick stage), what are the first few things you look for to assess the scope of automation and lighting
- A client wants high-end architectural fixtures with human-centric tunable white lighting. How would you structure the design using DALI versus traditional dimming?"
- When designing a system that includes automatic curtains, touch panels, and centralized AV racks, how do you determine the number of channels, actuators, or nodes required for the estimate?"
- How do you handle a situation where a client’s interior designer selects smart switches or capacitive touch panels that conflict with the back-end protocol (e.g., KNX or Zigbee) you have proposed?"
- Smart home sales cycles can stretch from 6 to 18 months during construction. How do you keep the client engaged and manage expectations across the builder, designer, and homeowner?"
- How do you respond when a luxury homeowner says, 'Why should I spend thousands on a specialized protocol system when I can buy retail smart switches and plugs online for a fraction of the cost?'
- Can you explain the structural difference between a wired KNX system and a wireless Zigbee 3.0 system to a client, and how you justify the price difference?"
- While wired systems like KNX are the gold standard for luxury homes, in what specific scenarios is a wireless protocol like Zigbee 3.0 actually the superior choice for a client, and how do you pitch those advantages?"
