Job Description – Accounts Manager

Job Title: Accounts Manager

Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai

Experience: 5–10 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical finance skilled to manage end-to-end accounting, direct & indirect taxation, audits, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in handling multi-entity accounts, complex tax compliances (GST, TDS, Income Tax), and rigorous financial analysis/scrutiny.

Key Responsibilities

1. Taxation & Compliance Management

GST Compliance: End-to-end management of GST filings including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual returns (GSTR-9 & GSTR-9C) across multiple states and companies. Execute rigorous reconciliation of GSTR-2A/2B with financial records and handle DRC-03 filings via the GST Portal.

Direct Tax & TDS: Handle monthly TDS workings, quarterly return filings, 26AS reconciliations, and the computation and filing of individual/salaried Income Tax returns.

Tax Assessments & Litigation: Independently handle all accounting-related notices, manage scrutiny matters, and represent the organization during departmental audits and tax assessments.

2. Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting transactions, including expenses, payments, receipts, purchases, sales entries, and voucher preparation within Tally ERP.

Reconciliations: Conduct daily bank reconciliations, quarterly ledger confirmations, and routine debtor reconciliations to ensure ledger integrity.

Financial Preparation: Prepare financial statements including Trial Balances, Profit & Loss accounts, and Balance Sheets.

Financial Forecasting: Develop CMA (Credit Monitoring Arrangement) data and projected balance sheets for corporate requirements.

3. Audit Coordination

Statutory & Tax Audits: Lead and facilitate smooth execution of Tax Audits and Income Tax Audits.

Concurrent Audit Function:



Oversee payroll/salary workings and conduct data scrutiny and credit risk analysis (such as credit card application verification).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Core Skills

Taxation & Auditing: Strong, practical understanding of Indian tax laws (Direct & Indirect), tax audits, and assessment procedures.

Financial Analysis: Excellent data scrutiny, analytical skills, and data visualization capabilities.

Operational Excellence: Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize high-volume compliance deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.

Software & Computer Literacy

Accounting Software: Advanced proficiency in Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime.

Tax Portals: Complete working knowledge of the official GST Portal and Income Tax e-filing portals.

Office Suite: Advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), MS Word, and PowerPoint.

Soft Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a courteous and professional demeanor.

A quick learner capable of adapting to new technologies and financial systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and departmental officials.

Experience Requirements

Total Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and consultancy environments (including exposure to Chartered Accountant firms and concurrent auditing).

Preferred Background: Proven track record of managing accounts/taxation for multiple companies/entities across multiple states simultaneously.
