Product Owner — Orbis Commerce
Company: Robosol Software UK Limited Location: Nagpur Work From Office
Reports to: CEO Type: Full-time, Permanent
About Robosol & Orbis Commerce
Robosol Software UK is a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partner serving Pharmaceutical, Food & Drink, FMCG, and Online/Retail businesses across Wholesale & Distribution, Manufacturing, Retail Chain, and Ecommerce sectors.
We are building Orbis Commerce — a multi-tenant B2B SaaS commerce platform covering five channels: In-Store EPOS, Customer Portal, Field Sales, Telesales, and Admin Portal — with deep integration into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It's live in development across pharma distribution, precision tools/industrial, and fashion retail (stores/concessions) tenants, with real customers migrating onto the platform now.
The platform is built on a modern TypeScript stack (Hono, Next.js 15, Drizzle ORM, PostgreSQL on Azure, Turborepo/pnpm workspaces) and is engineered to be more flexible than native BC equivalents while staying compatible with BC concepts and integration patterns.
The Role
We're looking for a Product Owner for Orbis Commerce to take ownership of the product backlog and roadmap across our five channels — EPOS, Customer Portal, Field Sales, Telesales, and Admin Portal — working directly with the CEO (who drives architecture and vision), the development team, and live customers across retail, wholesale/distribution, and industrial verticals.
This is a hands-on role for someone with real domain experience in EPOS and retail/wholesale commerce systems, who can translate that experience — plus direct customer input — into clear, well-structured backlogs and specifications the dev team can build against.
What You'll Do
- Own and prioritise the Orbis Commerce backlog across all five channels — EPOS, Customer Portal, Field Sales, Telesales, and Admin Portal — balancing live customer commitments, technical debt, and roadmap items
- Translate CEO vision, dev team input, and direct customer requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications the dev team can build against
- Bring hands-on domain expertise in EPOS and retail/wholesale commerce workflows (till operations, stock,
pricing, promotions, customer/order management) to shape features rather than just relaying requirements
- Run structured backlog grooming and sprint planning using GitHub Issues
- Work directly with live and onboarding customers (pharma distribution, precision tools/industrial, fashion retail) to gather requirements, run UAT, and validate delivered features against real operational needs
- Help sequence phased, incremental delivery over big-bang releases across the five channels
- Own release planning and communicate roadmap/status to internal stakeholders and customers
- Ensure requirements account for the platform's multi-tenant architecture and BC integration model (pricing, item variants, customer/order sync)
- Partner with the dev team lead on schema and architecture decisions requiring sign-off, ensuring requirements are unambiguous before implementation
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Solid background in EPOS and retail/wholesale commerce solutions — you've worked on or with till/point-of-sale systems, stock and pricing, promotions, or order management, either as a Product Owner, Product Manager, business analyst, or implementation consultant
- Experience with customer/B2B portals — order capture, account management, self-service, or similar
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager (or strong equivalent BA/consultant experience ready to step into ownership) on a commerce, retail, or ERP-adjacent product
- Comfortable writing clear, developer-ready user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience working with backlog/issue tracking tools (GitHub Issues or equivalent)
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to work directly with a CEO, a dev team, and external customers
- Comfortable with phased/iterative delivery and prioritisation trade-offs in a resource-constrained workplace
Highly Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another ERP platform (NAV, SAP, Oracle, etc.), especially retail/commerce modules
- Experience with field sales or telesales workflows (route/journey planning, call scheduling, order taking over the phone)
- Domain knowledge in one or more of: wholesale & distribution, retail chains, FMCG, or precision tools/industrial distribution
- Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS concepts (tenants, licensing, module-based provisioning)
- Familiarity with modern web SaaS architecture (APIs, portals, mobile apps) sufficient to have informed conversations with engineering — you don't need to code, but you should be able to read a schema diagram and follow an architecture discussion
- Experience working in a founder-led or early-stage product environment
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months
- A well-groomed, prioritised backlog across all five Orbis Commerce channels
- Clear specifications driving predictable, phased delivery with the dev team
- Demonstrated ability to translate a live customer's operational requirements (e.g. a distributor's telesales process, a retailer's EPOS/till workflow) into shippable features
- Established a lightweight but effective PO cadence (grooming, planning, release notes) that the CEO and dev team both trust
Why Join Us
- Genuine product ownership of a commerce platform being built from the ground up, not a mature product with legacy constraints
- Direct access to the CEO and architectural decision-making — your input will shape the roadmap
- Work across multiple retail/wholesale verticals (pharma distribution, industrial/tools, fashion retail) with real, live customers
- Modern, well-considered technical foundation (TypeScript, Turborepo, Drizzle, Azure) built with long-term extensibility in mind
- Path to grow into ownership of the wider Orbis platform (Health, QMS) as those product lines mature
