Foundry Head – Grey Iron & SG Iron FoundryLocation: CoimbatoreExperience: 10 – 20 YearsSalary: ₹20 LPA – ₹30 LPAJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Foundry Head to lead complete foundry operations for Grey Iron (CI) and SG Iron (Ductile Iron) castings using the No-Bake (Furan) Process. The candidate will be responsible for production management, metallurgy control, quality assurance, process optimization, cost control, and team leadership while ensuring safety and statutory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Foundry OperationsManage end-to-end foundry operations including moulding, core making, melting, treatment, pouring, shakeout, and fettling.Plan and execute daily production as per schedule and customer requirements.Achieve targets related to tonnage, productivity, yield, rejection control, and on-time delivery.Supervise induction furnace operations and molten metal handling.Process & Metallurgy ControlStrong knowledge in Furan No-Bake Process and SG/Grey Iron metallurgy.Monitor and control:Resin & catalyst dosingSand quality parameters (AFS, LOI, moisture)Bench life, strip time, and mould hardnessCoating application and drying processEnsure proper pouring temperature control (1350°C – 1450°C).Maintain chemical composition and nodularity standards.Improve sand reclamation efficiency and process consistency.Quality & Defect ReductionReduce casting defects such as blowholes, shrinkage, inclusions,



carbide formation, and nodularity issues.Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA.Coordinate with QA for inspection and testing activities including RT, UT, DP, PT, MT, and VT.Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and international standards.Team Management & Continuous ImprovementLead and mentor production, quality, maintenance, and metallurgy teams.Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, TQM, and 5S practices.Drive process standardization, SOP development, and productivity improvements.Monitor KPIs and support leadership development initiatives.Compliance & SystemsEnsure compliance with ISO, API, PED, IATF, NABL, and EHS standards.Support ERP implementation and QMS digitalization activities.Handle customer audits, technical discussions, and APQP documentation.Core CompetenciesGrey Iron & SG Iron Foundry OperationsFuran No-Bake Process ExpertiseMetallurgy & Melt ControlCustomer Audit & Technical LiaisonEHS & Statutory ComplianceTeam Leadership & TrainingPreferred Candidate ProfileBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering.10–20 years of experience in foundry operations handling CI & SG Iron castings.Robust leadership and problem-solving skills.Experience in medium to large-scale foundry operations preferred.Contact: 8807637290Mail: [email protected]
