Job Description

AVM Labs is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to manage the procurement of laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and general supplies.

The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in healthcare or diagnostic laboratory procurement, with solid knowledge of vendor management, inventory control, purchase processes, and laboratory materials. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely availability of materials, maintaining optimum inventory levels, controlling procurement costs, and supporting uninterrupted laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and manage procurement of laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and general supplies.
- Review stock levels and approve purchase indents based on consumption and operational requirements.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely procurement and delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum buffer stock.
- Prevent stock-outs and minimize excess or slow-moving inventory.
- Ensure FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) compliance for reagents and consumables.
- Monitor reagent and consumable expiry dates and take necessary preventive action.
- Verify received materials against Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs).
- Coordinate with vendors for material returns, replacements, shortages, or quality issues.
- Negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.




- Drive procurement cost optimization and support improvement of Cost Per Reportable Test (CPRT).
- Maintain accurate procurement, inventory, vendor, pricing, and purchase records.
- Develop and implement SOPs for procurement and inventory management.
- Monitor vendor performance based on pricing, quality, service, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with laboratory, finance, operations, and other internal teams.

Required Qualifications

- M.Sc. Biochemistry – Mandatory
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement.
- Experience in healthcare, diagnostic laboratory, pathology laboratory, or similar industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and supplies.
- Good understanding of inventory management and FEFO practices.
- Experience in vendor management and purchase negotiations.
- Experience using ERP systems and procurement software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
