JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth operation of sulphonation processes, maintain product quality standards, and support production, quality control, and research activities in line with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Support

* Monitor sulphonation process parameters (temperature, pressure, acid concentration, SO₃ feed, etc.).

* Conduct batch sampling and testing to ensure reaction consistency.

* Assist in optimization of sulphonation reaction conditions for yield, purity, and cost efficiency.

* Support troubleshooting of process deviations.

2. Quality Control (QC)

* Carry out routine testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products (active matter, acid value, color, moisture, pH, etc.).

* Maintain calibration and proper use of laboratory instruments (titrators, spectrophotometers, GC, HPLC if applicable).

* Prepare and maintain analytical test reports and certificates of analysis (COA).

* Ensure compliance with BIS / ISO / customer specifications.

3. Research & Development (R&D;) (if applicable)

* Develop and validate new analytical methods for sulphonated products (LABSA, SLES, AOS, etc.).





* Assist in scale-up studies and pilot plant trials.

* Contribute to product development for detergents, surfactants, and specialty chemicals.

4. Safety & Compliance

* Follow all safety protocols while handling sulphuric acid, SO₃, and other hazardous chemicals.

* Ensure adherence to environmental norms for effluent and emission.

* Maintain MSDS records and participate in HAZOP / safety audits.

5. Documentation & Reporting

* Maintain laboratory records as per GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).

* Prepare daily/weekly QC and production reports.

* Support ISO audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.

Key Skills & Competencies:

* Solid knowledge of sulphonation chemistry and surfactant industry.

* Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and instrumental analysis (GC, HPLC, FTIR).

* Good understanding of chemical safety and hazardous material handling.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
