Role Description

The Intern – Power Electronics Hardware Testing role at Hastin Energy is a full-time, on-site internship position based in Bengaluru. The intern will support the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of power electronics hardware and prototype boards used in battery and energy systems.

The role involves hands-on work with Battery Management Systems (BMS), AC-DC converters, DC-DC converters, battery chargers, power conversion systems, and other electronic hardware. The intern will assist in setting up test benches, executing test plans, collecting and analyzing data, documenting results, and identifying potential issues or failure modes.

The intern will work closely with the hardware development and testing teams to support design validation, performance testing, reliability testing, and continuous improvement of testing processes. This role provides practical exposure to real-world power electronics hardware development, laboratory testing, measurement equipment, and engineering problem-solving.

Responsibilities

- Support the testing and validation of BMS boards, AC-DC converters, DC-DC converters, battery chargers, and other power conversion systems.
- Assist in setting up and configuring hardware test benches, including power supplies, electronic loads, battery simulators, and measurement equipment.




- Execute defined hardware test plans and record test parameters, observations, and results accurately.
- Perform basic functional, performance, thermal, and reliability testing of prototype hardware and electronic boards.
- Comfort with lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data loggers.
- Assist in debugging and troubleshooting hardware issues and identifying potential failure modes.
- Support validation of circuit designs by comparing test results against design specifications and expected performance.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and safety practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate in teams, and follow structured test procedures.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and system engineering teams to communicate test findings and support design improvements.
- Interest in battery technologies, energy storage, and embedded systems is an added advantage.

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electronic circuits, power electronics, and hardware testing.
- Fundamental knowledge of power conversion systems such as AC-DC converters, DC-DC converters, inverters, and battery chargers is preferred.
- Basic understanding of battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret basic circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, datasheets, and test procedures.
- Basic understanding of electrical measurements, voltage, current, power, efficiency, and thermal performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately document test results and communicate technical observations clearly.
- Strong willingness to learn, work hands-on with hardware, and contribute in a quick-paced engineering environment.
