We are seeking an experienced and academically strong Head of Department – English to lead the English Department and ensure effective curriculum implementation, academic planning, teacher development, and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the English Department.
Develop and implement academic plans in accordance with ICSE/ISC curriculum requirements.
Plan and monitor lesson plans, assessments, examinations, and academic resources.
Mentor, guide, and support English faculty members.
Monitor teaching quality and classroom practices.
Analyse student performance and implement appropriate improvement strategies.
Coordinate departmental meetings and academic activities.
Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus.
Support teachers in curriculum planning and innovative teaching methodologies.
Coordinate with the Academic Leadership Team and school management.
Maintain appropriate academic records and reports.
Contribute to co-curricular and literary activities of the school.
Qualification & Experience
Post Graduate Degree in English from a recognised university.
B.Ed. is mandatory.
Relevant teaching experience at the High School/ISC level.
Prior HOD/Department Coordinator experience is preferred.
Solid knowledge of ICSE/ISC curriculum and assessment practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
