We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) power infrastructure to lead the grid connectivity, design, and execution of our rapidly expanding Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network. You will be responsible for taking EV charging sites from initial site feasibility and utility sanctioning through to commissioning and safety clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Survey & Load Sanctioning: Conduct site electrical feasibility studies and manage load sanction applications with local electricity distribution utilities (DISCOMs).
- HT/LT Engineering & Design: Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), sub-station layouts, transformer sizing (11kV/33kV), RMU selections, and LT distribution panel specifications.
- Turnkey Execution & Commissioning: Oversee in office installation of transformers, VCBs, cable trenching/laying, chemical earthing pits, and lightning protection systems.
- Liaison & Approvals:
Lead coordination with government electrical inspectors (CEIG / local authority) to secure required energized safety clearances.
- Power Quality & Safety: Implement solutions for harmonic mitigation, power factor correction, and surge protection tailored to high-power DC fast chargers (60kW to 360kW+).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–6+ years of hands-on experience in HT/LT sub-station design, execution, and utility grid interconnection (EV infrastructure, commercial real estate, or industrial power systems experience preferred).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of local electrical codes, grid standards, IEC 61851/62196, and safety compliance.
- Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD/electrical design software, project management, and vendor management.
