Position Summary

Role Overview The Business Development Lead WASH will be responsible for driving strategic business growth for the WASH practice domestically & internationally by identifying emerging opportunities, strengthening client relationships, developing sector intelligence, and positioning the organization as a preferred consulting partner. The role requires a dynamic and technically sound professional with strong advisory experience, capable of combining business development with thought leadership and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive business development initiatives for the WASH sector domestically & internationally by identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities across Central Government, State Governments, Multilateral Agencies, PSUs and Development Partners.
- Track national and global developments, policies, funding programs, technologies and market trends to identify emerging opportunities and support sector growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government stakeholders, funding agencies and strategic partners.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, technical presentations and client pitches in collaboration with technical teams.
- Work closely with the Sector Head to develop market strategies, key account plans and business growth initiatives.




- Develop thought leadership through white papers, technical publications, knowledge notes, market intelligence reports and industry presentations, positioning the organization as a leading consulting firm in the WASH sector. Shall be active on social media platforms like LinkedIn.
- Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, client meetings and networking platforms to enhance market visibility.
- Support development of strategic partnerships, collaborations and consortiums for large consulting opportunities.
- Promote innovation, knowledge management and continuous improvement within the WASH practice.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Minimum 12 years of experience in business development, advisory or management consulting within the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) sector.
- Strong understanding of the WASH ecosystem, government programmes, multilateral funding mechanisms and consulting business.
- Demonstrated experience in prospect identification, client engagement, proposal management and strategic consulting.
- Excellent presentation, communication, stakeholder management and networking skills.
- Dynamic, proactive and market-oriented professional with strong strategic thinking and technical appreciation of the WASH sector.

Preferred Background Candidates with experience in organizations such as Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Egis, GT, AECOM, Tata Consulting Engineers, Aarvee, SMEC, Stantec, SYSTRA, CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory or similar advisory/infrastructure consulting organizations will be preferred
