Position: Technician (Field Service Engineer) Solar Inverter

Job Purpose To provide field service support for solar inverters by handling installation support, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and customer complaints at various sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer complaints and service calls at assigned locations.
- Carry out installation support, commissioning, testing, and start-up of solar inverters.
- Troubleshoot DC/AC electrical, electronic, inverter, PCB, and communication-related faults.
- Diagnose inverter fault codes, alarms, and performance issues.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of solar inverter systems.
- Inspect wiring, earthing, protection systems, and inverter connections.
- Replace defective components, PCBs, fans, fuses, connectors, and other service parts as required.
- Use testing instruments such as multimeter, clamp meter, and megger for fault diagnosis.
- Provide technical support to customers, dealers, EPC partners, and installation teams.
- Coordinate with the Service, Technical Support, R&D;, and Quality teams for major technical issues.
- Prepare service reports, site visit reports, fault analysis reports, and complaint closure reports.
- Maintain records of service activities, spare parts, tools, and replaced components.
- Provide feedback on recurring field problems to the technical/R&D; team.
- Follow company safety procedures and electrical safety practices at customer sites.
- Travel regularly to customer sites and project locations as per business requirements.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of solar PV systems and solar inverters.
- Positive understanding of AC/DC electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of power electronics, PCB, IGBT/MOSFET, SMPS, relays, and sensors.
- Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of inverter fault codes and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of RS485 / Modbus / communication systems will be an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, or related trade.
- Experience: 14 years in solar inverter, UPS, electrical equipment, power electronics, or field service.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in solar inverter servicing will be preferred.
- ITI candidates with relevant field experience may also be considered.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work at customer/project sites.
- Good customer-handling and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Valid driving licence will be preferred.
