Senior Software Engineer Backend, Full Stack & Deployment

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, secure, deploy and maintain software systems for healthcare, diagnostic and medical-device applications.

The role requires strong expertise in Python/FastAPI, backend development, databases, APIs, application security and production deployment, along with working knowledge of frontend development, cloud infrastructure and software testing.

The engineer will be responsible for taking software modules from development and integration through verification, deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop robust backend applications using Python / FastAPI.
- Develop and integrate well-structured REST APIs for applications, devices and external services.
- Develop and maintain frontend components using JavaScript / React where required.
- Design and manage SQL / NoSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, query optimisation, data integrity, backup and recovery.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, RBAC, audit logging and session/token management.
- Implement appropriate security practices including encryption, TLS/HTTPS, hashing, secrets and key management.
- Deploy and maintain applications across Linux-based, on-premises and cloud environments such as AWS / GCP.
- Develop and maintain Docker-based deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
- Integrate software with medical devices, edge-computing platforms, databases and external services.
- Perform manual and automated testing, debugging and software verification.
- Implement application logging, monitoring, health checks and performance optimisation.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis and corrective implementation.
- Participate in software release qualification,

- Support client installations, demonstrations, deployment, technical discussions and post-deployment troubleshooting when required.

- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as DICOM, HL7 or FHIR.
- Experience with secure coding, data protection, backup and disaster-recovery practices.
- Prior client-facing experience involving requirement discussions, demonstrations, installation, deployment, training or field support.
- Positive client references or testimonials from previous projects or deployments will be an added advantage.

Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline; or
- MCA; or
- M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant software development experience.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications or recognised cloud/security certifications will be an added advantage.

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate should be capable of independently owning critical software modules and taking them from architecture and development through testing, deployment and production support. The candidate should be comfortable working in a cross-functional product-development environment involving software, hardware, embedded systems and healthcare applications.
