Role & responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the Electronics function and be accountable for technical excellence, team performance, project delivery, and execution of business objectives.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Electronics organization by driving capability development, technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and employee growth.
- Drive end-to-end electronics development from requirements and architecture through design, validation, industrialization, and product sustainment.
- Establish engineering standards, design guidelines, technical reviews, and best practices for electronics development.
- Ensure design documentation, requirements traceability, engineering data integrity, and compliance with internal quality processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Review and approve critical designs, align architecture decisions, component strategies, risk assessments, and technical solutions with headquarters and serve as the technical escalation point for complex hardware issues.
- Drive design quality, reliability, EMC/EMI compliance, manufacturability, and cost-optimization initiatives.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams and lead technical problem-solving, root-cause analysis, FMEA activities, and issue resolution across the product lifecycle.
- Manage project priorities, effort estimation, resource allocation, schedules, technical risks, dependencies, and engineering deliverables across multiple projects.
- Collaborate closely with global R&D;, Firmware, Mechanical, Systems, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, and suppliers to ensure successful product delivery.
- Drive product industrialization, design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement of released products.
- Build team capability through workforce planning, recruitment, competency development, coaching, mentoring, training,
and succession planning.
- Contribute to departmental strategy, technology roadmap, team capability development, innovation initiatives, and process excellence activities.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Electronics, E&TC;, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 15 to 22 years of experience in Electronics R&D; and product development, including at least 5 years in technical leadership, team leadership, or engineering management.
- Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams involved in complex electronic-product development, preferably in analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, measurement systems, industrial instrumentation, medical devices, automation, or similar product-based industries.
- Strong experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, embedded hardware, sensor interfaces, and power electronics.
- Experience in architecture definition, PCB-based product development, verification, validation, compliance, industrialization, and product sustainment.
- Experience working with global R&D; teams and leading complex cross-functional technical discussions.
- Experience working with global R&D; organizations and leading complex cross-functional technical discussions.
- Demonstrated capability in people development, stakeholder management, resource planning, and successful project execution.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities,
delivery commitments, quality objectives, and organizational goals.
- Track record of building engineering capability, developing future leaders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven leadership capability in building, mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills with experience working in global R&D; environments.
- Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, resource management, organizational development, and delivery of complex engineering programs.
- Strong expertise in precision analog, digital, mixed-signal, embedded hardware, sensor-interface, motor-control, and power-electronics design.
- Proven experience in system-requirement analysis, electronic architecture, schematic design, circuit simulation, PCB development, prototyping, debugging, verification, validation, and product release.
- Strong understanding of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, shielding, thermal design, EMC/EMI, electrical safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in component selection, derating, lifecycle and obsolescence management, alternate qualification, BoM optimization, FMEA, and root-cause analysis.
- Robust knowledge of DFM, DFA, design for testability, manufacturing readiness, product industrialization, and product sustainment.
- Experience in hardware verification, laboratory measurements, compliance testing, test-result analysis, and corrective-action implementation.
Hands-on experience with Zuken CR5000/CR8000 or other similar tools and familiarity with lifecycle-management tools such as DOORS, ALM, RTC, TQM, Jira, or equivalent.
