Role Description This is a full time, 100% remote contract role for a Switchware Developer (Informix 4GL). The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain switchware applications using Informix 4GL and related back-end technologies. Daily responsibilities include analyzing requirements, writing and optimizing code, troubleshooting and resolving application issues, and implementing enhancements or new features.

The developer will collaborate closely with other engineers, testers, and project stakeholders to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with technical standards.



The role also involves reviewing existing codebases, preparing technical documentation, and participating in code reviews and deployment activities.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and database fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, preferably in switchware or transaction-processing systems.
- Proficiency in Programming with a focus on Informix 4GL, and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements, design robust solutions, and optimize back-end performance and reliability.
- Experience working in remote, distributed teams with clear communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of version control systems, secure coding practices, and software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior exposure to financial, telecom, or transaction-switch environments is an advantage.
