We are looking for an Inventory & Stores Executive with 2 to 4 years of experience to manage plant inventory, stores, stock keeping, material planning and purchase coordination. The role will involve handling boiler, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, MRO materials etc required for smooth plant operations.
The candidate will be responsible for stock verification, inventory control, material records, vendor coordination, purchase follow-up, branch tranfers along with regular visits to plant and branch locations. Candidates with a Mechanical or Electrical background and industrial experience will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory & Stores Management
- Manage day-to-day inventory and stores operations.
- Maintain records of material receipts, issues, transfers and returns.
- Conduct regular physical stock taking and stock verification.
- Maintain minimum, maximum and reorder stock levels.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and excess inventory.
- Ensure proper storage, identification and tagging of materials.
2. Purchase & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations teams for material requirements.
- Prepare and monitor Purchase Requisitions (PRs).
- Alert Purchase team about stock availability before ordering new goods.
- Coordinate with the Purchase team for timely procurement.
- Follow up with vendors for deliveries.
- Coordinate regarding material shortages, damages, replacements and quality issues.
3. Stock Audit & Location Visits
- Conduct periodic physical inventory audits and stock verification.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP/system records.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies.
- Visit plant and branch locations for stock taking and inventory audits.
- Coordinate material transfers between different locations.
- Travel to field locations for material inspection and verification.
4. ERP & MIS
- Update inventory transactions in ERP/software.
- Maintain GRN, material issue, transfer and return records.
- Prepare inventory MIS and stock reports.
- Maintain proper inventory documentation for audit and management review.
Required Skills
- 24 years of experience in Inventory / Stores/ Material Management.
- Diploma / Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
- Good knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical materials.
- Practical experience in stock taking and physical inventory verification
- Basic knowledge of SAP.
- Valuable vendor coordination and follow-up skills.
- Strong documentation and inventory control skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to different plant and branch locations.
- Comfortable working in an industrial/plant environment.
