Role Description The SMS Mechanical Maintenance Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Ghaziabad, responsible for overseeing mechanical maintenance activities within the steel melting shop (SMS). The role includes planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance for machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. The manager supervises maintenance teams, assigns tasks, and monitors work quality and safety compliance.

Daily responsibilities involve coordinating inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, organizing spare parts and tools, and maintaining maintenance records and reports. The role also collaborates with production, safety, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability,



implement maintenance best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Strong mechanical engineering background with proven experience in Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering within heavy industry or steel manufacturing.
- Ability to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for reviewing mechanical components, layouts, and modifications.
- Experience in Inspection of mechanical systems, equipment performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Knowledge of Automotive or similar industrial mechanical systems and components relevant to plant operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced certifications in maintenance or reliability engineering are an advantage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing maintenance teams, planning workloads, and mentoring technical staff.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, and maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
- Understanding of steel melting shop processes and equipment such as furnaces, cranes, hydraulic systems, and rolling or handling equipment is preferred.
