Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Experienced C#/.NET engineer who leads technical design for medium-to-large features, establishes code quality standards, and mentors engineering teams. You'll drive architectural decisions, identify and remediate technical debt, and set the bar for engineering excellence across your service area.

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership & Architecture

- Lead design and implementation of complex features and systems in C#/.NET with minimal oversight
- Partner with product and architecture teams on feasibility assessments, technical tradeoffs, and execution sequencing
- Identify architectural risks and technical debt (e.g., legacy .NET Framework migrations); propose and drive remediation efforts
- Influence technical direction across the team without formal authority, building consensus through expertise and collaboration

Engineering Excellence & Standards

- Set and enforce engineering best practices across the team, including unit/integration testing, code review standards, and observability
- Establish observability standards using App Insights, Dynatrace, and other monitoring tools
- Champion code quality through design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive adoption of security best practices (OAuth/AuthHub patterns, secure coding standards)

Team Development & Mentorship

- Mentor Software Engineer I and II team members, providing guidance on technical growth and career development
- Review designs and code across the team, offering constructive feedback and knowledge sharing
- Support junior engineers in solving complex technical problems and building system design skills




- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement

Production Excellence & Incident Management

- Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for critical issues
- Drive resolution of high-impact production problems
- Implement preventative measures and share learnings across the team

What You'll Bring

Experience

- 58+ years of qualified software development experience with deep expertise in C#/.NET
- Proven track record of leading technical design and architecture decisions
- Experience mentoring and developing other engineers
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without formal authority

Technical Skills

- Strong system design skills with focus on scalability, reliability, and security
- Expertise with distributed systems architecture and patterns
- Experience with message queues (SQS/Service Bus) and asynchronous processing
- Deep knowledge of Azure-native services and cloud architecture
- Security expertise including OAuth/AuthHub patterns and secure authentication flows
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (App Insights, Dynatrace)
- Advanced knowledge of ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and related technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and infrastructure-as-code practices
