- Lead breakdown, preventive, and predictive electrical maintenance of CNC, VMC, DCMC/Die Casting, VTL, and other production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain CNC control systems, PLCs, servo systems, VFDs, HMIs, drives, sensors, encoders, and electrical control panels.
- Handle electrical and electronic maintenance of:
- CNC Machines
- VMC Machines
- DCMC / Die Casting Machines
- VTL Machines
- Laser Cutting Machines
- Fiber Laser Machines
- Shearing Machines
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Bending Machines
- Plant Utility Equipment
- Diagnose and rectify faults related to PLC I/O, control circuits, interlocks, safety circuits, sensors, relays, contactors, SMPS, transformers, and power circuits.
- Read, troubleshoot, modify, and write PLC programs for machine automation and sequence-related issues.
- Troubleshoot commonly used industrial PLC platforms and demonstrate a strong understanding of ladder logic, I/O mapping, timers, counters, interlocks, alarms, and machine sequences.
- Troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, spindle drives, VFDs, encoders, proximity sensors, limit switches, photo sensors, and solenoid controls.
- Troubleshoot CNC controllers, machine interfaces, turret/tool changer circuits, spindle systems, coolant systems, lubrication systems, and machine safety interlocks.
- Handle electrical and control-system troubleshooting of laser cutting and fiber laser machines, including machine controls, drives, sensors, and safety interlocks.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control systems of shearing and bending machines, including PLCs, hydraulic controls, sensors, and safety circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings,
control schematics, PLC ladder diagrams, CNC electrical diagrams, and machine manuals.
- Carry out electrical panel inspection, modification, wiring, cable termination, and control-circuit improvements.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring electrical and electronic breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities to improve MTBF and reduce MTTR.
- Support installation, commissioning, machine shifting, modifications, and automation upgrades.
- Coordinate with machine OEMs and service engineers during major breakdowns and commissioning activities.
- Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance activities, machine history, critical spares, and corrective actions.
- Identify critical electrical and electronic spare parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Guide and provide technical support to electricians, technicians, and junior engineers.
- Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Automation, and Utility teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO, 5S, PPE, and maintenance procedures.
Required Technical Skills PLC & Automation
- Strong hands-on experience in PLC troubleshooting, program reading, modification, and writing.
- Positive understanding of ladder logic, PLC I/O, timers, counters, data handling, interlocks, alarms, and machine sequences.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC-HMI-machine communication and I/O-related faults.
- Good knowledge of industrial automation and machine control systems.
CNC & Machine Controls
- Strong knowledge of CNC, VMC, and VTL electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience with servo drives, spindle drives, servo motors, encoders, CNC controllers, and machine interfaces.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine alarms and electrical/control faults.
Drives & Motors Hands-on knowledge of:
- AC/DC Motors
- Servo Motors and Servo Drives
- Spindle Drives
- VFDs
- Encoders
- Braking Systems
- Motor Control Circuits
Electrical & Electronics
- Strong knowledge of 415V/230V AC and 24V DC control systems.
- Experience with MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, overloads, SMPS, transformers, control panels, safety relays, and emergency circuits.
- Ability to use multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes/basic electronic diagnostic tools, and other maintenance instruments.
Laser & Sheet Metal Machinery
- Maintenance experience with laser cutting and fiber laser machines.
- Electrical and control troubleshooting experience with shearing and bending machines.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, safety circuits, and hydraulic-machine interfaces.
Utility Equipment Exposure to electrical maintenance of:
- Air Compressors
- Chillers
- Cooling Towers
- Pumps
- Air Dryers
- DG Sets
- HVAC and Utility Systems
- Water Circulation Systems
