About the Role

SRESTA is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Engineer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing.

The candidate will be responsible for independently executing electrical testing and commissioning activities, analyzing test results, preparing detailed technical reports, coordinating with clients and contractors, and supervising junior engineers and technicians at project sites.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of electrical testing equipment, testing procedures, protection systems, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently execute testing and commissioning of transformers, protection relays, HT/LT cables, motors, generators, and other electrical equipment.
- Plan and conduct testing activities according to project requirements, approved procedures, and applicable standards.
- Operate electrical testing instruments safely and accurately.
- Analyze test results and identify abnormalities, faults, and equipment conditions.
- Prepare and review detailed electrical testing and commissioning reports.
- Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing and provide suitable recommendations.
- Coordinate with clients, EPC contractors, consultants, and site teams.
- Supervise and guide junior engineers, GETs, and technicians.
- Allocate daily site activities and monitor completion of assigned testing work.




- Ensure testing activities comply with required electrical safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain proper records of test results, equipment details, calibration information, and site documentation.
- Verify testing instruments and accessories before starting site activities.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients and resolve testing-related queries.
- Travel to different project locations as required.

Required Technical Experience The candidate should have strong practical experience in:

- Transformer testing
- Protection relay testing
- HT/LT cable testing
- Motor testing
- Generator testing
- Insulation Resistance (IR) testing
- Winding Resistance testing
- Contact Resistance testing
- Transformer ratio testing
- Protection and control circuit testing
- Electrical equipment troubleshooting
- Testing report preparation and analysis
- Electrical drawings and test specifications
- Safe isolation and electrical safety procedures

Knowledge of applicable IS/IEC standards, testing procedures, and commissioning practices will be an advantage.

Eligibility

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Electrical Engineering.
- 4–6 years of relevant hands-on experience specifically in electrical testing and commissioning.
- Strong experience working at electrical/industrial project sites.
- Ability to independently handle testing assignments.
- Willingness to travel to project locations.




- Good technical communication and reporting skills.

- Take ownership of testing activities from site preparation → testing → analysis → final report.
