Senior Data Engineer – Azure | SQL Server | Microsoft Fabric

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join an application development team supporting a business-critical enterprise web application and its data ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise across SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Logic Apps, Power BI, GitHub, data modelling, and enterprise integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and support SQL Server databases used by the enterprise web application.
- Build and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for data movement, transformation, scheduling, monitoring, and recovery.
- Develop and optimize T-SQL, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
- Design data models and implement ETL/ELT and incremental data-processing solutions.
- Integrate application data with Dynamics 365 and other enterprise systems using REST APIs.
- Develop and support data solutions using Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, and OneLake.
- Use Azure Logic Apps for application/data integration, workflow orchestration, notifications, and event-driven processing.
- Support Power BI and enterprise reporting requirements.
- Implement data quality, reconciliation, logging, error handling, retry, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot SQL, pipeline, integration, and production data issues.
- Use GitHub and CI/CD practices for source control and deployments.
- Collaborate with application developers and technical stakeholders to deliver reliable enterprise data solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Database Development, or a related technical field.




- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Strong experience working in the Microsoft Azure environment.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Experience with Azure Data Lake.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and familiarity with OneLake.
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps and integration workflows.
- Experience with Power BI and enterprise reporting.
- Solid Data Modelling and ETL/ELT experience, including incremental processing.
- Experience with GitHub, source control, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with REST API integrations; Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience for enterprise applications.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
