We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AS400 / IBM i Infrastructure & DR Failover Engineer with strong expertise in managing mission-critical infrastructure within core banking and financial services environments .

The role will focus on ensuring infrastructure resilience, high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and the automation of failover and failback processes. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i administration, HA, replication, DR planning, and business continuity in production-critical and regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support AS400 / IBM i infrastructure in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain failover and failback strategies for AS400 / IBM i systems.
- Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) preparedness activities, including workplace readiness, DR drills, testing, and validation exercises.
- Ensure DR environments remain continuously ready, including:
- Infrastructure readiness
- Replication health
- Network connectivity
- System and user access
- Documentation and operational procedures
- Automate failover and failback processes using scripts, tools, or orchestration platforms to reduce manual intervention and recovery time.
- Work closely with core banking and financial services application teams to align infrastructure resilience with business and operational requirements.
- Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and replication health across primary and DR environments.
- Identify potential infrastructure risks and proactively implement improvements to strengthen system resilience.
- Prepare, maintain, and regularly update DR runbooks, SOPs, recovery procedures, and compliance documentation .
- Support audits, regulatory requirements, risk assessments, and compliance activities relevant to BFSI environments .
- Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.




- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to infrastructure availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in AS400 / IBM i infrastructure administration and support.
- Strong hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i systems in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing infrastructure failover and failback mechanisms .
- Strong background working with core banking systems or financial services/BFSI environments .
- Hands-on experience with Disaster Recovery planning, environment readiness, DR testing, and DR drill execution .
- Experience automating failover and failback processes using scripts, infrastructure tools, or orchestration platforms.

Preferred Profile
- Experience supporting large-scale core banking infrastructure .
- Strong understanding of BFSI compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with highly available and geographically distributed infrastructure environments.
- Proven ability to lead DR drills and coordinate with multiple infrastructure and application teams.
- Experience improving and automating recovery processes to reduce recovery time and operational risks.
