Job Title: School Librarian

Job Summary The School Librarian will be responsible for managing the school library and creating a welcoming, engaging environment that encourages students to develop a love for reading and learning. The role involves maintaining library resources, assisting students and teachers, organizing reading activities, and ensuring the library operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
- Maintain and organize books, magazines, reference materials, and digital resources.
- Issue and return books and maintain accurate library records.
- Assist students in selecting age-appropriate books based on their interests and reading levels.
- Encourage students to develop regular reading habits and a love for books.
- Conduct storytelling sessions, reading activities, book discussions, and library programs.
- Support teachers in identifying books and resources related to classroom topics.
- Maintain proper cataloguing, classification, labeling, and shelving of library materials.
- Monitor the condition of books and coordinate repairs or replacements when required.
- Maintain a quiet, safe, clean, and student-friendly library workplace.
- Organize book fairs, reading weeks, literary events, competitions,



and other library activities.
- Introduce students to basic research, information-search, and digital literacy skills.
- Keep records of library usage, new acquisitions, and inventory.
- Recommend and assist with the selection and purchase of new books and educational resources.
- Ensure students follow library rules and handle books and resources responsibly.
- Coordinate with teachers and school management to promote reading and learning initiatives.
- Perform other duties assigned by the school management.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a school librarian or in an educational institution is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of library management and cataloguing systems.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital library resources.
- Experience working with children or primary/secondary school students is preferred.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹36,415.58 per month
