About Sammsara

Sammsara is a luxury home décor and furnishings brand specialising in premium brass, aluminium, glass, leather, leatherette and other decorative hard goods.

We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager who will take complete ownership of the quality of all products entering, moving through and leaving our facility.

Role Overview The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for 100% quality inspection of products received from different suppliers, as well as products being prepared for dispatch to customers.

The candidate must have excellent practical knowledge of brass, aluminium, glass, leather and leatherette products, understand common manufacturing and finishing defects, and have the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.

The role requires someone who is extremely detail-oriented, hands-on and uncompromising about quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Incoming Quality Control – Supplier Inventory

Inspect every product received from every supplier before it enters inventory.

Conduct a detailed quality check of all incoming products.

Check for:

Scratches and dents

Uneven finishing

Colour and polish inconsistencies

Structural defects

Welding/joint issues

Breakage

Alignment issues

Surface imperfections

Incorrect dimensions

Manufacturing defects

Packaging-related damage

Ensure products meet Sammsara’s quality standards before being accepted into inventory.

Maintain proper records of rejected, approved and rework products.

- Supplier Quality Management

Take complete responsibility for products that fail QC.

Communicate quality issues clearly to suppliers.

Coordinate the return of rejected products to suppliers.

Ensure rejected products are properly rectified/reworked.

Follow up with suppliers until the corrected products are received back.

Re-inspect all rectified products before accepting them into inventory.





Maintain records of recurring supplier quality issues and escalate persistent problems to management.

- In-House Repair & Rectification The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of repairing and rectifying brass and aluminium products in-house, wherever possible.

Identify whether a defective product can be repaired internally or needs to be returned to the supplier.

Supervise/perform minor repairs and finishing corrections where required.

Have strong knowledge of fixing issues related to brass and aluminium products.

Ensure repaired products meet the required quality standards before dispatch.

Coordinate with in-house workers/artisans for rectification work.

- Final Quality Check Before Customer Dispatch

Conduct a final QC check on every product before it is dispatched to a customer.

Ensure the product is completely free from defects, damage and finishing issues.

Verify that the correct product is being sent.

Ensure products are properly cleaned, finished and presentation-ready.

No product should leave the facility without passing QC.

- RTO Quality Checks

All RTO (Return to Origin) shipments received from customers must be opened and inspected.

Open every returned shipment.

Conduct a complete quality inspection of the returned product.

Identify whether the product was:

Damaged during transit

Used by the customer

Defective

Returned in incorrect condition

Damaged due to packaging

Document the condition of every returned product.

Decide whether the product can be:

Restocked

Repaired

Reworked

Sent to the supplier

Rejected

- DTO / Customer Returns

Open and inspect all DTO/customer-returned products received at the facility.

Conduct a complete quality check.

Record the condition of the product upon receipt.





Ensure appropriate action is taken based on the inspection.

Maintain accurate records of customer-return quality issues.

- Quality Standards & Processes

Establish and maintain explicit QC standards and checklists for different categories of products.

Develop category-specific quality parameters for brass, aluminium, glass, leather, leatherette and other materials.

Maintain QC documentation and rejection reports.

Track recurring defects and identify their root causes.

Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to continuously improve product quality.

Identify patterns in customer returns and RTOs and use this information to improve QC processes.

Candidate Requirements

3–5+ years of relevant Quality Control experience.

Prior experience working with a home décor, furniture, furnishings or luxury hard-goods brand is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of manufacturing, finishing and common quality defects.

Excellent eye for detail.

Strong practical knowledge of repairing/rectifying brass and aluminium products.

Experience dealing directly with suppliers regarding quality issues.

Ability to manage rejected products, rework and supplier follow-ups.

Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of quality.

Extremely hands-on, hardworking and detail-oriented.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is extremely particular about quality and has an exceptional eye for detail.

The person should not simply identify defects—they should understand why the defect has occurred, whether it can be fixed in-house, how it should be rectified, and how to prevent it from happening again.

The QC Manager will be the final gatekeeper for product quality at Sammsara. Every product coming from a supplier, every rejected/reworked product, every RTO/DTO and every product going out to a customer must be thoroughly inspected and approved before it moves forward.
