At the core is CORTEX, our Food Intelligence Engine that decodes food at the ingredient level and transforms complex nutritional data into personalized, actionable intelligence.

Our first product, BRIDGE, brings this intelligence to restaurants and food operators through menu digitization, nutritional analysis, personalization, POS integrations, and intelligent food recommendations.

We are looking for a Tech QA Lead who can build and own the quality engineering function as we scale our technology, integrations, data systems, and AI-driven products.

What You Will OwnYou will be responsible for ensuring that Fitshield's products are reliable, scalable, secure, and production-ready across web, backend, APIs, data, integrations, and AI-driven workflows.

You will establish QA processes from the ground up and work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Business teams to make quality a part of the development lifecycle—not just a final testing step.

Key Responsibilities1. QA Strategy &

- Ownership

- Build and own Fitshield's overall QA strategy and testing framework.
- Define testing standards, processes, documentation, and release criteria.
- Establish QA gates across development, staging, and production.
- Drive continuous improvement in product quality and release reliability.

2. Functional & • System Testing
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, regression suites, and exploratory testing.
- Test end-to-end user journeys across BRIDGE and other Fitshield products.
- Validate complex business rules, nutritional calculations, personalization logic, and recommendation workflows.
- Identify edge cases and failure scenarios before production release.

3. API & • Backend Testing
- Test REST APIs, backend services, database interactions, and integrations.




- Validate API responses, authentication, authorization, data integrity, and error handling.
- Perform integration testing across internal and third-party systems.

4. Automation
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for critical product workflows.
- Automate regression, API, integration, and end-to-end testing wherever practical.
- Identify high-value automation opportunities and reduce dependency on manual testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

5. Data & • AI/ML Quality
- Validate data pipelines, nutritional datasets, calculations, scoring, and personalization outputs.
- Develop test approaches for AI/ML-assisted features and rule-based intelligence.
- Detect data inconsistencies, model-output anomalies, and unexpected recommendation behavior.
- Work with Data/ML teams to establish quality benchmarks and validation processes.

6. Product & • Release Quality
- Participate in requirement and technical design reviews from a QA perspective.
- Identify potential defects and risks before development begins.
- Own release validation and production sanity checks.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for critical production issues.
- Maintain defect tracking, severity classification, and quality metrics.

7. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, DevOps, and Design teams.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are testable and measurable.
- Communicate risks clearly and objectively to engineering and leadership.
- Mentor future QA engineers as the team scales.

Must-Have Skills
- 4+ years of experience in software QA / Quality Engineering.




- Strong experience in manual and automation testing.
- Strong understanding of API testing, web application testing, database testing, and integration testing.
- Experience with tools such as Postman, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
- Robust SQL/database testing skills.
- Understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum product teams.
- Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently design test strategies for complex systems.

Good to Have
- Experience testing AI/ML products or data-intensive applications.
- Experience with Python or another programming language.
- Experience with mobile application testing.
- Experience with POS, payment, SaaS, or third-party API integrations.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps workflows.
- Experience building QA processes for an early-stage startup.

- Make QA an integral part of the engineering development lifecycle.
