Working Days: Monday - Friday and 1-3-5 Saturdays are working

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Tester to test and validate electronic trading platform. The successful candidate will ensure that trading systems are accurate, reliable, resilient, and ready for production.The role requires strong functional testing skills, familiarity with Linux environments, and hands-on knowledge of Bash. Python scripting is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Test order placement, modification, cancellation, execution, rejection, and other order lifecycle events.
- Validate trade records, positions, balances, transaction data, and system-generated outputs.
- Test positive, negative, boundary, and failure scenarios.
- Validate system behaviour during high message volumes, connectivity interruptions, delayed responses, process restarts, and invalid inputs.
- Test market-data processing, APIs, messaging interfaces, and upstream and downstream integrations.
- Use Linux and Bash to execute tests, monitor processes, inspect files, and analyse application logs.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Work with developers to investigate issues and support root-cause analysis.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and execution reports.
- Perform smoke testing, release validation, and post-deployment verification.
- Support test automation and the development of reusable testing utilities where appropriate.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and support teams.





Required Skills and Experience

- Experience in manual, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Good understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and defect management.
- Working knowledge of Linux or Unix environments.
- Hands-on experience with Bash commands and basic shell scripting.
- Ability to analyse application logs and troubleshoot issues across integrated systems.
- Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman, curl, or similar.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and investigation.
- Ability to write explicit test cases and reproducible defect reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, business-critical environment.

Desirable Skills

- Python scripting for test automation, data generation, reconciliation, or log analysis.
- Experience testing trading, financial, banking, or transaction-processing systems.
- Understanding of high-frequency trading concepts and low-latency systems.
- Knowledge of order types, order lifecycles, trade execution, positions, and risk checks.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as pytest, Robot Framework, or Cucumber.
- Exposure to performance, latency, load, resilience, or failover testing.
- Familiarity with message queues or streaming technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, or a related disciplineor equivalent practical experience.
