Job Purpose: The PPC Engineer coordinates the manufacturing lifecycle of pharmaceutical machinery (such as granulators, tableting machines, blister packing lines, liquid filling lines, and custom Special Purpose Machines). This role focuses on streamlining shop-floor operations and managing internal and external vendor schedules to ensure project completion complies with cGMP and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. External Vendor Follow-up & Subcontracting Management (50%)Outsourced Component Tracking: Coordinate with fabrication, laser cutting, machining, surface treatment (electropolishing, chrome plating, anodizing), and casting vendors. Lead-Time Management: Follow up daily with external vendors to track the status of raw materials, forged parts, and customized machine aggregates against the Purchase Order (PO) timelines. Shortage Mitigation: Identify potential delays at the vendor's end early, raising alerts to arrange alternative sourcing or expedite production.Logistics & Quality Alignment: Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to schedule Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI) at vendor workshops, ensuring incoming components comply with pharma-grade surface finish requirements (e.g., Ra value, SS 316L specs).
2. In-House / Shop-Floor Planning & Follow-up (30%)Production Scheduling: Create and issue daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for internal shops (VMC/CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and machine assembly).Cross-Department Coordination:



Interface with the Design department to ensure the timely release of Bills of Materials (BOM) and production drawings. Internal Progress Tracking: Monitor assembly milestones for each machine, resolving internal bottlenecks like tooling shortages, machine downtime, or resource constraints. Inter-Department Liaison: Connect the Store, Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to maintain a balanced Work-In-Progress (WIP) flow.

3. Material Control, Documentation & ERP (20%)Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Run MRP within the ERP system to analyze material availability against project deadlines.Data Accuracy: Log all internal production updates and vendor delivery statuses in the ERP system.

MIS Reporting: Prepare and present Daily Production Reports (DPR), vendor delivery performance charts, and variance reports for project review meetings.

Required Skills &

Qualifications Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: 3 to 6 years of PPC experience, specifically within pharmaceutical machinery manufacturing, heavy engineering, or Special Purpose Machine (SPM) industries.

Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of machinery parts, sheet metal fabrication, assembly workflows, and machining processes (CNC, VMC, turning).

Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment requirements (e.g., SS 316L grade, surface finish standards, cleanroom regulations).

Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific software) and advanced MS Excel.

Soft Skills: Solid negotiation and persuasion skills for managing external vendors, proactive problem-solving abilities, and clear communication habits under tight project deadlines.
