Reporting To

Operations Head

Role Purpose : Drive effective execution of production and planning for primary packaging machinery by ensuring on-time delivery of customized equipment (filling, capping, labeling, sealing systems) with high quality and cost efficiency. The role ensures strong coordination between Design, Assembly, Procurement, Quality and Service Teams to deliver engineered-to-order and standard machines in line with customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Production

- Assist in planning, organizing and controlling daily production operations to achieve output targets in terms of quality, productivity and delivery timelines
- Ensure smooth execution of production schedules for customized primary packaging machines
- Coordinate closely with Design, Assembly and Quality teams to meet technical specifications and customer requirements
- Monitor and control key cost drivers such as scrap, rework, machine downtime and energy consumption
- Track and analyze Plant MIS to ensure adherence to production targets and cost budgets
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards on the shop floor

Planning

- Support production planning activities including material planning, capacity planning, and scheduling
- Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machines, materials) to reduce manufacturing costs
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores teams for timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components




- Ensure effective inventory management to reduce carrying costs and avoid stock-outs
- Assist in developing production plans aligned with order priorities and delivery commitments
- Monitor adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules in coordination with maintenance team
- Contribute to improving planning systems and processes for better forecasting and execution

Quality

- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications for machinery and components
- Support implementation of quality systems standards and internal quality protocols
- Drive initiatives like 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Lean Manufacturing practices on the shop floor
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements

People Management

- Supervise and guide shop floor teams including supervisors, technicians and operators
- Support manpower planning and skill development initiatives
- Ensure discipline, safety awareness and adherence to company policies
- Facilitate effective communication between management and shop floor workforce
- Participate in employee engagement and safety initiatives (e.g., Safety Week, training programs)

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification:

- BE (Mechanical / Electrical).

Years/type of experience:

- 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing with Primary Packaging industry experience preferred

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

- Functional Leadership and Management abilities
- Knowledge of Engineering processes, quality standards
- People management skills
- Financial performance analysis
- Problem solving and analytical skills
