**Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced PPC Planning Manager to lead production planning and ensure on-time and in-full delivery of customer orders. The role will be responsible for converting the order book into an achievable production plan while balancing capacity, lead time, material availability, WIP, production priorities and delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete order to delivery planning cycle, from order booking to final dispatch.
- Develop monthly, weekly and daily production schedules based on customer priorities and committed delivery dates.
- Prepare grade wise, size wise, heat wise and process wise production plans for ingots, billets, round bars, die steel and tool steel.
- Establish realistic process wise lead times and ensure each order moves according to the planned schedule.
- Implement finite capacity planning considering furnace, casting, rolling/forging, heat treatment, inspection and finishing capacities.
- Optimize production sequencing to reduce changeover time, waiting time, movement, working in progress and production losses.
- Plan and monitor the complete process flow: Melting Refining Casting/Ingot Rolling/Forging Heat Treatment Inspection/NDT Finishing Dispatch.
- Prioritize orders based on delivery date, customer importance, material availability, process lead time and production constraints.
- Maintain a live order-wise production tracker and ensure early identification of potential delivery risks.
- Establish daily,
weekly and monthly delivery targets for inhouse as well as for outsourcing rolling Mills and closely monitoring achievements against plans .
- Conduct daily coordination with Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, Heat Treatment, Sales, Dispatch and Logistic teams.
- Identify bottlenecks and take proactive action to avoid production losses and delivery delays.
- Monitor raw material and alloying material availability and coordinate with Purchase/Stores to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Plan billet/ingot availability in line with upcoming rolling and forging requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality and Inspection to ensure timely testing, NDT, clearance and material release.
- Plan and lead the control on rejection, rework, quality hold, breakdown, shortage or production shortfall without affecting customer delivery.
- Maintain a 7-day look-ahead and 30-day delivery plan with clear priorities and action points.
- Ensure proper control on WIP and finished goods inventory without compromising delivery performance.
- Review Plan vs. Actual production and present the MIS for variance in OPN review meeting along with gap analysis.
- Develop and monitor PPC dashboards/MIS covering order status, production status, pending quantity, capacity utilised, WIP and dispatch.
- Coordinate with Sales/Marketing on realistic delivery commitments and communicate any major capacity or lead-time constraints.
- Ensure finished material is moved promptly from production to inspection, stores and dispatch.
- Drive continuous improvement in production lead time, schedule adherence, capacity utilization and OTIF performance.

Candidate Profile
- 8–15+ years of experience in PPC/Production Planning, preferably in alloy steel, special steel, forging or rolling industries.
- Strong understanding of steel melting, refining, ingot/billet production, rolling/forging, heat treatment and inspection processes.
- Experience with round bars, die steel, tool steel or other special steel products will be an advantage.
- Solid understanding of capacity planning, production sequencing, MRP, WIP control and delivery planning.
- Proficient in ERP and google sheets
- Strong analytical, coordination, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and take quick decisions under delivery pressure.
- Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production or Industrial Engineering preferred.**
