Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced NetApp Storage L3 Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage administration and strong expertise in NetApp storage technologies. The candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex enterprise storage infrastructure in a highly available production environment.

The role requires robust L3 troubleshooting capabilities, proactive infrastructure management, ITIL-based operational support, and the ability to independently handle critical technical escalations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support enterprise NetApp storage infrastructure in a complex production environment.
- Provide L3 technical support and troubleshooting for critical storage incidents and escalations.
- Administer and troubleshoot NetApp AFF, FAS, ASA, StorageGRID, and Cloud Volumes ONTAP environments.
- Manage NFS and CIFS/SMB protocols, including file access, permissions, ACLs, authentication, and name-resolution issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot CIFS servers, Active Directory integration, Kerberos authentication, LDAP/NIS, and other name services.
- Perform storage performance monitoring, analysis, tuning, and optimization.
- Implement and maintain data-at-rest and data-in-transit encryption and storage security hardening.
- Manage data protection and replication technologies across enterprise storage environments.
- Perform storage capacity expansion, cluster migration, firmware upgrades, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Troubleshoot complex storage performance, connectivity, access, authentication, and availability issues.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning,



testing, and business continuity activities.
- Participate in technical projects, storage migrations, infrastructure transformation, and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes, operational standards, security policies, and production support procedures.
- Drive automation, standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement of storage operations.
- Act as the highest level of technical escalation for complex NetApp storage issues.
- Provide flexible support for a 247 enterprise environment, including on-call responsibilities.

Must-Have Skills
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise storage administration.
- Strong hands-on expertise in NetApp Storage.

- Experience with

- NetApp AFF

- NetApp FAS

- NetApp ASA

- NetApp StorageGRID

- NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP
- Strong knowledge of NFS, CIFS/SMB.
- Expertise in CIFS Server deployment and administration.
- Hands-on experience with:

- Active Directory integration

- Kerberos authentication

- LDAP/NIS

- DNS and name services

- ACLs and file permissions
- Strong knowledge of storage encryption and security hardening.
- Experience with data protection, replication, backup, and DR technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across storage access, performance, authentication, permissions, and connectivity.
- Experience in storage expansion, migration, firmware upgrades, and cluster management.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage performance analysis and optimization.
- Ability to independently manage complex storage environments and resolve L3 escalations.
- Willingness to work in a 247 support environment.
