Description

Investec is looking for an Intermediate .NET Engineer to join our Private Client Lending Technology team in South Africa. This role will focus on the development and support of origination applications and related integrations, with strong emphasis on C#, .NET, and Azure cloud services. You will be involved in both project delivery and business-as-usual activities, including feature development, incident resolution, and maintenance of existing services.

A good functional understanding of banking and financial services is important, as the role sits within a high-impact environment supporting lending workflows. The role requires a balance between building current solutions and supporting existing systems, with an emphasis on resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support.
- Work with business analysts, product owners, and architects to refine requirements and design solutions.
- Develop, deploy, and support changes that enable core lending business processes and integrations.
- Build, test, and deploy enhancements and integrations using C#, .NET, and Azure services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, ensuring high-quality, automated delivery.
- Follow a “you build it, you run it” model,



participating in on-call support rotations for business-critical systems if required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and defects in production and test environments.
- Ensure solutions are built with security and compliance best practices embedded.
- Contribute to team collaboration, Agile ceremonies, and knowledge sharing.
- Document solutions to support maintainability and handover.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills The ideal candidate for this role is a .NET developer with strong C# skills and hands-on Azure experience, allied to a good functional and commercial understanding of the Banking industry.

Core skills include

- 3-5 years proficiency in C# and Microsoft .NET technologies (.NET Core/.NET 6+)
- Azure competence: Microsoft AZ-204 (Azure Developer Associate) as a pre-screen and submit only candidates who have already passed the exam
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Logic Apps, API Management)
- Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
- Strong relational database skills (SQL Server), including query writing and schema design
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with software testing practices (unit and integration tests)
- Awareness of and commitment to security best practices in software development • Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery teams
