Founded in 2016, Paper Town is an independent design studio built around a love for thoughtful design, beautiful details and creating work that people genuinely enjoy experiencing.

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with 100+ brands and businesses across hospitality, F&B;, lifestyle, retail, weddings and gifting. Our portfolio includes work for some fantastic names such as Anvaya, Amaara Farms, Monique Patisserie and Ambrosia, along with many growing brands and businesses that we’ve loved being a part of.

We also work closely with some of the leading wedding planners and creative teams, including Wedding Evensia, Bells & Bows and others, creating everything from wedding identities and invitations to stationery, signage, gifting and digital experiences.

About the Role

We are looking for a Motion Graphic Designer / Animator to join Paper Town, with a strong command of Adobe After Effects.

This role is primarily focused on motion design - creating engaging social media content, animated brand assets and most importantly, animated e-invites.

We are looking for someone who understands design as well as animation. You should have a good eye for composition, typography, colour, pacing and detail, and be comfortable taking a static design and bringing it to life through motion.

What You'll Be Doing





Motion Design & Animation

- Create social media reels, animated posts, stories and other motion-led content
- Animate existing brand identities, illustrations, typography and graphic elements
- Create transitions, text animations, kinetic typography and visual effects
- Develop motion graphics that feel polished, contemporary and aligned with the brand
- Edit and animate short-form content for social media

E-Invites
- Animate wedding, birthday and other occasions invitation designs into polished video e-invites
- Bring illustrations, monograms, typography, florals and other wedding elements to life
- Create elegant transitions, movement, reveals and visual effects
- Work with music, sound effects and timing to create a cohesive final video
- Adapt static wedding stationery and invitation designs into engaging motion pieces
- Create different formats and versions for WhatsApp, Instagram and other digital platforms

Design Support

- Work closely with our design team to translate static artwork into motion
- Prepare and organise Illustrator/Photoshop artwork for animation
- Make minor design adjustments when required for animation
- Ensure final artwork is technically correct and export-ready

Required Skills

Must Have

- Strong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects
- Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
- Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Strong understanding of typography, composition, colour and visual hierarchy
- Understanding of animation principles, timing and transitions
- Ability to work with existing artwork and animate it creatively
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines

Good to Have





- Knowledge of Premiere Pro
- Experience with social media content and short-form video
- Experience creating e-invites

The Kind of Designer We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is design-led, detail-oriented and genuinely enjoys animation.

You don't need to be a traditional video editor. The core requirement is that you are excellent at motion graphics and bringing designed artwork to life.

You should have a strong aesthetic sense and be able to understand the difference between simply adding movement to a design and creating animation that actually enhances the design.

Someone who is comfortable working with beautiful typography, illustrations, florals, textures, patterns, photographs and graphic elements will be a great fit for this role.

The primary focus of this role will be social media motion content and e-invites.

Experience

1–3 years of relevant experience in motion graphics, animation or graphic design with strong motion work is preferred.

Freshers with an exceptionally strong After Effects portfolio will also be considered.

Portfolio Requirement A portfolio is mandatory.

Please note: We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on After Effects experience. Robust graphic design skills alone will not be sufficient for this role.
