Job Summary:

We're looking for a focused, hands-on engineer to join the team as a Mobile Engineering Specialist. This is a dedicated role responsible for clearing a significant backlog of mobile-specific tasks, technical debt, and integration work to ensure the long-term health of our mobile ecosystem.

In this execution-heavy role, you will focus on resolving technical debt and completing outstanding mobile engineering tasks rather than general advocacy or community engagement. Your work will be crucial in stabilizing our mobile libraries, helping to refine our tools and resources so that our Video, Voice, and Network APIs perform optimally on Android and iOS platforms.

About the Role:

As a Mobile Engineering Specialist, you will dive deep into our existing mobile codebase to address pending tickets and modernization efforts. You will be responsible for ensuring our mobile products and SDKs meet high production standards by refactoring legacy components, updating integrations, and streamlining the developer experience through direct engineering contributions.

What you will do / Key Responsibilities:

- Backlog Execution: Execute on a prioritized list of mobile tasks, including refactoring legacy code, updating dependencies, and resolving technical debt in our mobile SDKs and applications.
- Platform Maintenance: Ensure all mobile tooling, reference applications, and integrations are stable, performant,



and up-to-date with current platform standards.
- Automation & Tooling: Develop internal tools and scripts to accelerate the resolution of the mobile backlog and improve build/test efficiency.
- Engineering Collaboration: Work directly with the developer relations tooling team, Product, and Product Engineering to implement fixes, maintain SDK parity, and ensure high-quality, stable code across all mobile projects.

What you will bring / Requirements:

- Required Qualifications Solid software development experience with expertise in Android (Kotlin/Java) technologies.

Proficiency in programming languages relevant to server-side development. Experience with API design and implementation.

Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote environment.

- Preferred Qualifications Strong track record of clearing technical backlogs, debugging complex mobile issues, and maintaining production-grade mobile applications.

Understanding of WebRTC and real-time communication protocols. Proficiency in multiple programming languages commonly used for tooling and server-side development.

Familiarity with cloud communication platforms (CPaaS), Network APIs.

Background in creating developer documentation and technical content.
