1. Lead / support India manufacturing with all ME related activities; help with implementation of the QHSE management system; work with the SAP team and Operations team to design ERP functionality; and help with the installation / commissioning of Plant Machinery & Equipment at the new India manufacturing start-up (based on learning / training acquired at EAGS Dubai and Singapore locations)
Role: Play a key role in the overall success of Manufacturing by developing and implementing manufacturing processes which ensure productivity, efficiency, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, cost-reduction, and safety in the manufacturing of components used in the OFS industry as well as associated industries such as alternate-energy, aerospace, defense, marine and/or automotive.
The individual(s) will collaborate with other relevant functions such as operations, production, QHSE, QC, maintenance, sales, etc. to facilitate continuous improvement, cost reduction, on-time delivery, manufacturing efficiency, personnel/machine utilization, and adherence to financial plans in a safe working environment The individual(s) will be part of the core-team that ensures timely and seamless go-live of the India Manufacturing Hub.
Responsibilities:
General
1. Create Bill of Materials for parts to be manufactured
2. Create Routings based on various manufacturing processes such as sawing, straightening, solid boring, pull-boring, honing, CNC turning / milling, threading, outside vendor processes (typically surface treatments) etc. to convert raw material to machined/manufactured component in the most cost effective, safe and efficient manner. This will require accurate calculation of timings for the respective operations using the PM&E; available at EAGS.
3. 3D modelling and generating programs for various CNC machines. This will require familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhein, Siemens, Mazatrol controls and also familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as NX, EdgeCAM, AutoCAD, MasterCAM, etc.
4. Identify special tooling / creative techniques that will add functionality to our machines that enable us to manufacture what we could not do before (with existing PM&E;)
5. Create and execute policies/programs for machining/manufacturing to ensure high quality, low cost, and timely delivery of product.
6. Identify and evaluate suppliers (for tooling, associated supplies, and outside vendor machining/services) who can deliver quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner.
This will also entail working with the Quality department to carry out supplier audits.
7. Be able to look at part drawings (and relevant specifications), evaluate machining / manufacturing requirements, identify appropriate tooling, techniques, etc. Where applicable, this will involve arranging for tooling/insert trials with tooling manufacturers and obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing / delivery, placing orders with relevant suppliers, coordination with worldwide EAGS locations with regards to best practices either developed locally or internationally and ensure their world-wide adoption to ensure best practices are incorporated that ultimately save cost and time, while simultaneously improving efficiency and accuracy.
8. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to develop and optimize manufacturing of high precision machined processes.
9. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods for specific projects. This will involve carrying out time and motion studies (as and where applicable/required). The aim is to create manufacturing flows that alleviate bottle-necks and ensure line-balancing.
10. Design, modify, and implement tooling fixtures, jigs, and cutting tools to enhance production capabilities and product quality.
11. Develop and maintain documentation related to tooling designs, specifications, and performance metrics.
12. Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for machining-related issues on the shop floor.
13. Perform regular inspections on tooling / equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
14. Train production staff on proper part/tooling setup and operating procedures with regards to machining.
15. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing technology.
16. Guarantee excellent communications within the organization at corporate level with strong internal communication.
17. Establish and maintain cost control standards for manufacturing.
18. Set up, execute and enforce goals/KPIs for vendor/operator performance along with plant management.
