Company Description MITTI Café is a non-profit organization that creates livelihood opportunities and experiential training for adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities. The organization operates over 40 inclusive cafés in high-footfall locations such as the Supreme Court, major airports, corporate offices, colleges, and malls across India. Through its cafés, training programs, Karuna (Compassion) Meals initiative, and Good Gifts platform, MITTI Café has served millions of meals and supported marginalized communities across the country.

The organization collaborates with leading companies worldwide to distribute ethically sourced gifts made by NGOs and social enterprises. MITTI Café’s impact has been recognized through numerous national and international awards, reflecting its commitment to social inclusion, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Manager role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. The Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the café and related programs, including staff scheduling, inventory management, vendor coordination, and adherence to quality, safety, and hygiene standards. The role involves supporting and mentoring team members with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and empowering work environment.

The Manager will monitor financial performance, track sales, manage budgets,



and implement initiatives to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities also include liaising with partners and stakeholders, coordinating community outreach activities, and preparing regular reports on operations, impact, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications

- Experience in operations or hospitality management, including staff supervision, inventory control, and process optimization.
- Solid people management and mentoring abilities, with a commitment to inclusion, empathy, and working effectively with diverse teams.
- Skills in basic budgeting, cash handling, and performance tracking to support sustainable café and program operations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to engage guests, partners, and stakeholders professionally.
- Ability to work on-site in the Kolkata metropolitan area, with flexibility to manage shifts, events, and occasional weekend or holiday work.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, social work, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- Prior experience in the social sector, disability inclusion, or community development is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and local languages, and comfort using basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, point-of-sale systems).
