Sabre is looking for a talented Data Science Engineer to join the Sabre Labs Research team.

Sabre Labs Research is a specialized team of researchers, mathematicians, and AI engineers focused on solving complex challenges across the global travel ecosystem. Our work spans Airline Pricing, Agency Automation, Network Planning, Airline Operations, and Departure Control Systems (DCS). By combining advanced mathematical optimization, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and MLOps, we build cutting-edge solutions that power the future of travel distribution and operational efficiency.

As a Data Science Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying intelligent systems that solve real-world business challenges while delivering measurable impact across Sabre's travel marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy advanced software solutions integrating machine learning models and mathematical optimization algorithms.
- Drive research and innovation initiatives, identifying and scaling next-generation AI solutions within the travel industry.
- Build end-to-end AI systems leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for automation, customer intent recognition, and conversational commerce.
- Develop scalable solutions for complex business challenges, including workflow optimization and modernization of legacy systems.
- Establish and implement MLOps best practices to ensure reliable and high-performing production models.
- Convert research prototypes into production-grade, low-latency applications using Python and C++.
- Collaborate closely with architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to align technology solutions with strategic objectives.
- Evaluate and advocate innovative technologies, including Generative AI and Agentic AI, for enterprise-scale applications.




- Mentor junior engineers and data scientists while fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science, AI Engineering, Machine Learning, or Operations Research.
- Master's or PhD (preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong experience in Agile software development and deploying AI/ML solutions into production environments.
- Expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Advanced programming skills in Python and C++.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working on large-scale datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI and BigQuery.
- Experience with MLOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of Generative AI frameworks and RAG-based applications.
- Ability to lead and drive complex technical initiatives independently.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Travel Technology industry, particularly within GDS or OTA environments.
- Knowledge of Airline Operations, Departure Control Systems (DCS), Network Planning, or Route Profitability.
- Expertise in optimization techniques such as Linear Programming (LP) and Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP).
- Experience with optimization solvers such as Gurobi or CPLEX.
