ROLE OVERVIEW The Junior Executive – Accounts will be an integral member of the Finance & Accounts team at SIF's Kolkata headquarters, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting. This is an ideal entry-to-mid-level chance for a detail-oriented finance professional seeking foundational experience within a structured, process-driven manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day-to-Day Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments in Tally ERP / SAP.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable entries; ensure timely vendor payments and follow up on customer outstanding.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation statements (BRS) across all company accounts.
- Maintain petty cash records, expense vouchers, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal controls.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of trial balance and ledger scrutiny.
Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Support preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and assist in GST reconciliation (2A/2B vs purchase register).
- Assist with TDS deductions, computation, challan payments, and quarterly TDS returns (24Q, 26Q).
- Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely compliance with applicable provisions under the Income Tax Act and GST Act.
- Coordinate with auditors (internal and statutory) during periodic audit exercises; prepare schedules and supporting documents as required.
MIS, Reporting & Financial Support
- Prepare routine MIS reports including expense summaries, vendor aging, debtor aging, and cost centre statements.
- Assist in preparation of monthly P&L; statements and balance sheet schedules for management review.
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams for invoice matching,
GRN reconciliation, and inter-departmental accounting entries.
- Support preparation of export-related financial documentation in compliance with FEMA and RBI regulations, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIE
Essential Qualifications
- B.Com / B.Com (Honours) from a recognised university; M.Com, MBA (Finance), or CA Inter (IPCC cleared) preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, trading, or industrial organisation.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime; working knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic MIS).
- Sound understanding of GST, TDS, and fundamental accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, accrual basis).
- Banking experience candidates will be preferred.
- Familiarity with accounts payable / receivable cycles, bank reconciliation, and vendor/customer ledger management.
Preferred / Advantageous
- Prior exposure to SAP FICO or any ERP system in a manufacturing or export-oriented company.
- Working knowledge of import/export accounting, foreign currency transactions, or FEMA basics is an advantage.
- Experience supporting statutory or internal audit processes.
